The only thing I find nearly as exciting as the rising temperatures and later sunsets signaling spring is a good sale. Luckily, this season and an onslaught of unbeatable deals oftentimes go hand in hand. Point in case? Columbia just dropped a surprise spring sale on travel clothing essentials to usher in the first day of spring, and with markdowns reaching up to 72 percent off, I don’t need to worry about exceeding my budget to stock up on trail-ready must-haves.

With my own travels in mind for the coming months, I took stock of Columbia’s significant sale offerings to uncover the 12 best deals worth the investment this spring. Markdowns are steep and the site is largely in stock with a full range of sizes, but don’t wait too long to shop — this sale only runs until midnight PST on March 26.

Columbia Women’s Powder Lite II Hybrid Hooded Jacket

Columbia

Spring may have finally arrived, but that doesn’t mean we’re entirely done with unexpected cold snaps quite yet. So, for chilly hikes and everyday wear, this lightweight puffer is an excellent choice, and it’s now on sale for 58 percent off. The body of the coat is insulated for additional warmth, while the breezier softshell sleeves offer a good temperature balance to keep you comfortable regardless of the weather. The adjustable hood will stay firmly fitted to your head even in the breeziest conditions, while the tailored finish is far more flattering than most jackets.

Columbia Women’s Burr Trail Long Hoodie

Columbia

If you like your loungewear to provide a little more coverage and warmth, look no further than this longline trail hoodie that comes in the perfect relaxed fit. The cut is long enough to cover your rear without limiting your range of movement, while an ultra-soft cotton blend feels like a warm hug in clothing form. The spacious kangaroo pocket at the front of the sweatshirt allows you to avoid using the seatback pocket on your flight as it has room for all of your must-haves, plus it comes in six beautiful shades, from baby pink to traditional grey. Best of all, it’s available in a full range of standard sizes from XS to XXL, along with plus-sized options from 1X to 3X.

Columbia Women’s Boundless Avenue Pants

Columbia

Functional activewear pants don’t need to be bulky and unflattering to get the job done. Don’t believe me? Just turn your sights to the Columbia Women’s Boundless Avenue Pants that boast a fitted, form-hugging finish complete with a high-rise cut. Designed for hiking and other outdoor adventures, these water-resistant pants are made with UPF 50 protection from harsh sun rays along with several spacious, handy pockets. Reflective detailing is an essential safety feature that should not be overlooked if you’re heading out in low lighting, and they also come equipped with a built-in D-ring for a carabiner. Did we mention they’re 50 percent off?

Columbia Women’s Redmond Low Shoe

Columbia

Breathable, lightweight, and built with impressive traction, these simple hiking shoes are a valuable addition to your spring adventure gear collection — and they’re on sale for 40 percent off. Coming in a full range of sizes from 5 to 12 (including half sizes), these cushy hiking shoes boast reliable lugs at the outsoles for vital grip on a wide range of terrain, from slick rocks to wet leaves. Light cushioning provides support while allowing you to connect with the ground, and exteriors made of suede and mesh will remain in great condition even after regular wear. At $44, this is one of the best deals on hiking shoes we’ve spotted so far this season.

Columbia Women’s Glacial IV Half Zip Fleece

Columbia

No matter the time of year, a cozy fleece half-zip will always be a smart piece to have on-hand when traveling, whether you’re met with unexpectedly chilly nights or an overly air conditioned hotel room. Fortunately, this vibrant option from Columbia is currently on sale for up to 50 percent off in select colors, and while sizes may be limited on-site, what you can’t get at Columbia you can also score at a discount at Amazon. This breathable layer is stretchy and relaxed while providing moderate warmth, making it especially great for styling under a thicker jacket on the trail. The microfleece fabric is gentle against sensitive skin while a high collar offers essential coverage to your neck and chin, and it even comes in a variety of pretty, springy colors.

Columbia Women’s Juniper Peak Hybrid Jacket

Columbia

Blending the style of a puffer jacket with the warmth of a fleece, this hybrid hiking essential is a must-have while it’s on sale for nearly $100 off. It provides light warmth, which is ideal for the season at hand, while the design is packed with thoughtful details like a chin guard around the zipper to eliminate chafing, a drawcord hem to lock out chill from errant wind, and even secure zippered pockets for peace of mind that your belongings are safely stowed away during your adventures. The puffer section is rain-repellent, which will be an asset during the unpredictable spring months, and the fleece arms are so soft you’re never going to want to take this coat off.

Columbia Women’s Fire Side Quarter Zip II Fleece Pullover

Columbia

Featuring a longer cut and ultra-soft, cozy fleece fabric, this beautiful quarter-zip is a stylish and wearable addition to your spring wardrobe — and at 68 percent off, you’re not going to want to leave this deal unclaimed. Whether you’re looking for a new sweatshirt to wear during long-haul flights or are on the hunt for a soft post-hike layer, this top fits the bill as an addition to your dream travel wardrobe. It comes with two convenient pockets for your phone and other items you’d like to keep readily available, while elastic cuffs keep out wind and effectively traps in warmth. If you ever wished you could wear your favorite blanket outside of the house, this quarter-zip is the easiest way to realize that dream.

Columbia Women’s Peony Park Overshirt

Columbia

Quilted chore coats are having a moment this season, so if you’d like to score a sportier version of the trend (at a significantly discounted price), you’ll want to snatch up the Columbia Women’s Peony Park Overshirt while it’s on sale for 63 percent off. Its simple, boxy fit makes it easy to style numerous ways from the trails to the street, while a water-repellent exterior is exactly what’s needed for the April showers on the horizon. It features a longer fit that ties together function and style — plus, it’s available in three sleek shades, including safari green, dark stone, and black.

Columbia Women’s Wallowa Softshell Overalls

Columbia

Overalls may almost always be stylish, but that doesn’t mean that every pair is built equally. If you love the look, but are on the hunt for a pair you can rock comfortably on the trails, look no further than the Wallowa Softshell Overalls that are currently marked down to just $40. This layerable wardrobe staple is fully stocked in a wide range of sizes from XS to XXL, and you’ll never run out of new ways to style the neutral crushed clay shade. Designed for hiking, these overalls come fitted with UPF 50 sun protection and a water-resistant fabric that won’t leave you feeling weighed down by heavy material if you get caught in a surprise storm. An adjustable waist and shoulder straps allow you to achieve a truly customizable fit, and the front zipper closure makes this one-piece outfit surprisingly easy to slip on and off.

Columbia Women’s Holly Hideaway Waffle Cowl Neck Pullover

Columbia

Disrupting the traditional look of a cozy sweatshirt, this cowl neck pullover is a more stylish option that’s just as warm and travel-friendly — and it’s only $17. The loose fit and stretchy fabric ensure you’ll never feel restricted or uncomfortable while wearing this sweat-wicking top, and its simple colorways make it an easily styled fun look for the trails. It still provides the coverage and longer fit that Columbia has mastered with its layering pieces, and it’s available in a full range of standard sizes as well as select plus sizes in the dark stone and shark shades.

Columbia Women’s Boundless Avenue Dress

Columbia

Functional, fashionable, and on sale for 57 percent off, the Columbia Boundless Avenue Dress is a must-have for spring, whether you’re taking on the trails or building your itinerary for an international vacation. This long-sleeved dress is practically made for the transition into spring, offering just enough warmth while letting your legs breathe, and the material features UPF 50 sun protection (although you should always remember to pack a bottle of sunscreen, too!). The waist is adjustable with a drawstring cord, so you can achieve a more tailored finish or a boxier look, and as the ultimate bonus, it’s fitted with two pockets.

Columbia Women’s Boundless Trek Fleece Full Zip Jacket

Columbia

Now on sale for 53 percent off, this elevated fleece jacket is practically a steal at $42 in three neutral colors. While the majority of this packable coat is made from a fuzzy fleece fabric, the sleeves and chest are decorated with a unique corduroy material that’s both eye-catching and durable. It’s designed to provide medium warmth, making it an asset for the trails on days when Mother Nature isn’t in your favor, and, in fact, the jacket has even earned an impressive 4.7-star average rating on the site from happy customers. Its relaxed fit won’t restrict your range of movement, resulting in unending comfort, and its simple color scheme will no doubt pair well with everything you have packed in your suitcase.
