Name: Christopher McGinnis
Previous title: CEO, CitizensRx
New title: CFO, GoodRx
McGinnis took the reins as GoodRx’s finance chief on Tuesday, according to a press release from the prescription price transparency company.
The executive joins GoodRx from midsized pharmacy benefit manager CitizensRx, where he served as CEO for nearly four years, according to his LinkedIn. Prior to CitizensRx, McGinnis also held leadership positions at Lumeris, a value-based care firm that also offers Essence Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans, and Express Scripts, one of the largest PBMs in the country.

McGinnis replaces former GoodRx CFO Karsten Voermann, who held the role since 2020 and resigned last month for personal reasons, according to a securities filing. The company’s chief accounting officer, Romin Nabiey, served as CFO on an interim basis while GoodRx looked for a permanent successor.
The executive change comes weeks after GoodRx named a new CEO, Wendy Barnes, who also previously worked at Express Scripts. Barnes officially stepped into the chief executive role on Jan. 1, more than a year after the company’s founders Trevor Bezdek and Doug Hirsch stepped down from their positions as co-CEOs in April 2023.
Bezdek and Hirsch currently serve on GoodRx’s board of directors. Scott Wagner, who was interim CEO before Barnes started at the company, also joined the board last month.
GoodRx is starting the new year with a lower stock price than at the outset of 2024. But in the third quarter, the company posted revenue of $195.3 million, a more than 8% increase year over year. The company reported net income of almost $4 million, up from a loss of $38.5 million during the prior year.
GoodRx will report fourth-quarter earnings on Feb. 27.
